FOX 6: Smart technology not making us dumber
UC expert says digital age also has its benefits
UC social/behavioral expert Anthony Chemero and colleagues at the University of Toronto published an opinion paper in the academic journal Nature Behavioral Science that was syndicated by dozens of Fox News media outlets, including Fox 6 Milwaukee.
In the paper, the researchers discuss the evolution of technology and unfounded claims that smart technology is making us dumber as a society.
"We’re not solving complex mathematical problems with pen and paper or memorizing phone numbers in 2021," says Chemero, a professor of philosophy and psychology.
The paper was covered in over 300 outlets, including the Fox 6 coverage and a live interview took place on WBTV.
